Websense is pleased to announce its inclusion on the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) STAR registry with its completion of the CSA STAR Self Assessment. The CSA Security, Trust and Assurance Registry (STAR) Program is “a publicly accessible registry designed to recognize the varying assurance requirements and maturity levels of providers and consumers.” The program is offered and managed by CSA, a not-for-profit organization promoting the use of best practices for providing security assurance within Cloud Computing.

Launched in 2011, the STAR Self Assessment documents security controls available as part of vendor cloud offerings. Websense’s inclusion in the STAR registry follows its completion and submission of the Consensus Assessments Initiative Questionnaire (CAIQ) and is now publicly available via the registry, providing customers’ immediate visibility of and essential answers to our cloud security related practices and solutions.

Websense customer Brian Nesgoda, CISO of Sikorsky Financial Credit Union, noted that Websense’s inclusion on the registry, along with the accompanying credentials, “streamlined the due diligence process,” and was “more security controlled than an SAE 16 alone.”
