Overview

Since its start in 2000, NETprotocol has held ‘Gold Partner Certified’ status with some of the world’s leading technology vendors including: HP, VMWare, Citrix, and Microsoft.

Through these vendors, NETprotocol creates tailored IT Consultancy Services which offer long-term scalability, helping many of the UK’s leading law firms, schools and academies to maximize efficiency and improve ROI from an IT budget.

From Fortune 500 companies to SMBs, NETprotocol’s priority has always been to provide a solution which responds to the exact needs of each client and meets the compliancy needs of a highly regulated industry.

Challenge

Over 70% of NETprotocol’s business is generated from law firms. These high-profile legal clients rely solely on NETprotocol to provide the most resilient, scalable network security solution on the market. The following three NETprotocol clients are law firms and have implemented the Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall.

By utilizing the technology Forcepoint delivers, the different deployment models provide bespoke levels of scalability and resilience. Each client then also gains from the overall security benefits of NETprotocol managing the complexities of their firewall infrastructure for them.

Lee & Thompson

This 100-user law firm represents many of the world’s most successful musicians, producers, directors and creative talent in addition to television and sports personalities - David Beckham, Robert Plant, the Jimi Hendrix Estate and The Rolling Stones. Corporate clients have included EMI, Sony and Universal.

In order to protect its client’s highly sensitive PII, NETprotocol advised Lee & Thompson to purchase the Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall with Multi-Link technology. With the Stonesoft solution, NETprotocol was able to install a scalable and resilient Multi-Link VPN for site-to-site connectivity. If one link is down for any reason, another link is fully functional and an automatic failover is initiated. It’s active-active to use all bandwidth they pay for, and the failover functions have patented features to make the switch to a secondary link completely transparent to the VPN connections. This gave Lee & Thompson the confidence of non-stop security along with high performance for every deployment.

“By implementing the Forcepoint NGFW, Lee & Thompson no longer has the concern that if they lose a connection, they lose their security.”
— Mark Collins, Senior Security Consultant, NETprotocol

For Lee & Thompson, security with the Forcepoint NGFW meant providing the resiliency of a Multi-link firewall solution.

Jordan’s solicitors

With three sites located in the UK, Jordan’s Solicitors, another 100- user law firm, migrated its entire network to a NETprotocol cloudhosted application.

“NETprotocol recommended Forcepoint’s technology which they deliver as a managed service. As a result, we now benefit from the advanced level of protection provided by Forcepoint’s Next Generation Firewall, which is fully managed and monitored by Legal IT experts NETprotocol, offering us a fully secure, cost effective and hassle-free solution.”
— Penny Reddington, Resource Manager, Jordan’s Solicitors

NETprotocol chose to use standard ADSL but incorporate a policybased, site-to-site, full-mesh VPN which extends high availability coverage to all network and VPN connections. NETprotocol can manage all of Jordan’s Solicitors’ sites under one instance of centralized management, provided by Forcepoint, in the cloud, allowing for visibility and ease-of-use at all sites.

Hempsons

The 400-user, Hempsons law firm operates out of four office locations and advises over 200 organizations in the health, care, charity and life sciences sectors.

Hempsons incorporates an active-active clustering feature of the NGFW. For every firewall node in a cluster, up to 16, the cluster becomes more resilient. Each node can be fully utilized in every cluster, to provide superior performance when running demanding security applications.

Currently, NETprotocol has implemented firewalls at each Hempsons branch office with a firewall cluster in each — ensuring a fully resilient network security solution managed by NETprotocol’s team of specialist Firewall Engineers.

“NETprotocol’s effective and daily management of our IT infrastructure has been crucial to business performance and achieving key business objectives including office expansion and network security.”
— Brett Raymond, Head of IT, Hempsons
