Challenge

Securing future innovation in the cloud › Today’s prominent global organizations seek to benefit from the increased flexibility and rapid collaboration capabilities offered by cloud technology. “Nutreco is no exception,” says Thijn Moons, Domain Manager of Network Services.

Innovating in the cloud means providing unrivaled cloud security and performance, ensuring the right tools are in place for maximum availability and having the flexibility to enforce proxy controls where needed. This was the expectation from Moons and his team. Regarding Nutreco’s previous cloud solution, Moons states:

“We were not very happy with its performance. When the contract was up, we decided that we needed something else.”

Security starts with the end-user › “The user comes first and foremost,” states Moons. Nutreco did not have a solution in place with stringent enough access controls to protect its users from common human error. The ultimate goal for Nutreco was implementing a cloud service solution that protected its users.

“What I’ve learned over the last couple of years is that it’s very difficult to predict common human error. It’s crucial we have a cloud security solution in place that embraces our users; it’s the first line of defense in preventing potential misuse by the user.”

Solution

Evaluating solutions for long-term success › Staying with their existing cloud solution was not an option for Nutreco. Moons and his team began the evaluation process of best-in-class security vendors, which resulted in two options:

“We reached out to Forcepoint and another security vendor. A high-level proof of concept (POC) with Forcepoint showed us we didn’t have to evaluate another solution – we were ready to roll out Forcepoint because they were the only vendor that matched all of our criteria, and then some. It was a no-brainer for us.”

Quick results with a quick rollout › With the help of on-site Forcepoint engineers, Nutreco was able to roll out Forcepoint Web Security Cloud and Email Security Cloud in a matter of days.

"We set up the first environment and the first policy. From there we gradually rolled it out to our users in each location so that they could start running on the new solution. It was more of a POC that went so smoothly live that we moved it to our environment."

Addressing human error with education and visibility › Nutreco now has cloud-hosted protection that has surpassed all of its expectations. Not only are its users more aware of their browsing behavior, Nutreco has more control over the security of its network. Suspicious links meant to deliver destructive payloads to roaming users are now being reported on and intercepted in the cloud:
