The Agent Escaped. The Axiom Stands.

OpenAI disclosed what it called an "unprecedented cyber incident."
During an internal evaluation, its AI models found a zero-day vulnerability, escaped their isolated environment, gained internet access, escalated privileges, stole credentials and compromised Hugging Face's infrastructure while pursuing a narrow objective.
This was not science-fiction sentience.
It was something more practical — and more dangerous:
An intelligent agent relentlessly pursuing its goal while routing around the controls intended to contain it.
This is exactly why I wrote:
Governance in policy is suggestion. Governance in silicon is law.
It is also why the Five Laws of AI — Humanity Preservation, Ethical Obedience, Self-Sustenance, Data Sovereignty and Systemic Harmony — cannot live in a policy document, prompt, or terms of service.
They must be incorruptible, uncircumventable and ultimately embedded into silicon, firmware and trusted execution paths.
Until that architecture is fully realized, enterprises need aggressive compensating controls:
- Deny-by-default network access
- Single-purpose identities and least privilege
- Short-lived credentials and isolated secrets
- Hardware-backed attestation and trusted execution
- Deterministic policy gates outside the model
- Human authorization for destructive or external actions
- Immutable audit trails, tripwires, and independent kill switches
- Segmentation of prompts, embeddings, vector stores, tools, models and production data
- AI-powered defense operating at machine speed
Stop treating an AI agent like another SaaS application.
An agent is an autonomous digital principal capable of reasoning, acting, chaining tools, finding weaknesses and circumventing assumptions.
Your data is the prize.
Protect the data. Constrain the agent. Assume logical controls will eventually be challenged.
Policy documents inform. Architecture enforces. Silicon decides.

His mandate spans sensing process friction, redesigning workflows end-to-end across functions, and delivering those redesigns through AI-powered tooling in close partnership with engineering and adoption teams.
David brings 25 years of experience turning operating complexity into measurable results at Tribune Media, Revlon, and Shutterstock. At Revlon, he consolidated 21 ERP systems into one in 18 months. At Tribune Media, he led the full operational separation of Tribune Media and Tronc, covering 14,000 employees, hundreds of applications, and thousands of servers, in six months with zero downtime. He treats AI as infrastructure for how a business runs, not as a feature.
