Jill Bradshaw

Forcepoint is committed to enabling organizations to empower employees with unobstructed access to confidential data while protecting intellectual property and simplifying compliance. As part of this commitment, Forcepoint maintains numerous global industry certifications and compliance for our products to ensure we meet and exceed deployment, documentation, security functionality and security posture standards across the industry.

We are happy today to announce that the Forcepoint NGFW has now completed the rigorous security certification requirements and testing and is now available on the Defense Information Network (DoDIN) Approved Product List (APL).  This designation ensures that Forcepoint's NGFW exceeds security standards required to operate on the Department of Defense (DoD) network in accordance with the applicable DoD STIGs. With this designation, agencies are able to adopt Forcepoint as the industry's #1 most secure next generation firewall and enterprise SD-WAN to protect and modernize DoD networks with confidence.

DoDIN Approved Products List Ensures Compliance Confidence as Agencies Modernize Federal Networks

Digital transformation has forever changed how our government operates. In fact, the sentiment across many agencies is that we need to move faster and as part of their digital transformation efforts.  In this environment, upgrading DOD networks is important to ensure digital transformation and the adoption of cloud apps does not breaks traditional centralized networks and security in distributed environments.

Forcepoint’s cloud and network security solutions work together to keep sites, users and data safe. Forcepoint's NGFW with SD WAN—integrates direct-to-cloud connectivity with the #1 network security at enterprise scale.  Benefits include:

  • Increased Productivity—faster cloud application performance with less downtime.
  • Lower Costs—fewer boxes to deploy and manage, more efficient use of broadband, and simpler operations.
  • Reduced Risk—stronger security without gaps or redundancies, on premises or in the cloud
  • Streamline Compliance—unified control and greater visibility for faster incident response.

More information on the DoDIN APL

The Department of Defense created the Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List (DoDIN APL) in 2011 to identify solutions that were tested and trusted to address government security concerns. Its purpose is to maintain a single consolidated list of products that have completed Interoperability (IO) and Cybersecurity (CS) certification. Use of the DoDIN APL allows DoD Components to purchase and operate DoDIN systems over all DoD network infrastructures. Listing on the DoDIN APL is required for all products that are implemented into the technology infrastructure of the U.S. DoD by mandate DoDI 8100.04 and fulfills Risk Management Framework (RMF) CS/IA testing requirements. DoD components are required to fulfill their system needs by only purchasing APL listed products, providing one of the listed products meets their needs. This means the APL must be consulted prior to purchasing a system or product.

The DOD Information Network (DoDIN) Capabilities (DC) assesses the seamless integration of voice, video, and data applications services delivered ubiquitously across a secure and highly available Internet Protocol infrastructure.

Interested government personnel may request a Cybersecurity Assessment Package (CAP) on the Forcepoint NGFW by contacting the Approved Products Certification Office (APCO) at disa.meade.ie.list.approved-products-certification-office@mail.mil with the Tracking Number (TN) 1731202.

Note: only government civilian and/or uniformed military personnel may receive the Cybersecurity Assessment Package (CAP).

Independent, third-party testing and certifications like this continue to be a priority to Forcepoint to help demonstrate compliance with national or international standards as well as provides validation and verification of our commitment to quality across our portfolio to ensuring compliant protection for critical data.  We understand that meeting and exceeding these mandates is not only critical to supporting global compliance, but can enhancing your network’s overall security posture and protecting your data.
