A World-Class CISO Roundtable That Security Leaders Shouldn’t Miss
0 min read

Brandon Keller
What happens when some of the brightest minds in cybersecurity sit down to tackle the most pressing data protection issues of our time? You get a conversation that no security leader can afford to miss.
Ronan Murphy, Forcepoint Chief Data Strategy Officer, recently hosted a CISO panel during RSA 2025 with rich experience in data and cybersecurity.
Ronan was joined by:
- Marcelo Amaral, CISO—Banco Safra
- Ron Powell, EVP & CISO—Pacific Premier Bank
- Guy Shamilov, CISO—Forcepoint
These security leaders discussed how they are tackling today’s security landscape challenges from a number of different perspectives.
Here is a preview of the initial topics raised by Ronan and a sample of what you can learn from the panel’s discussion in the first few minutes.
Cybersecurity Stakes Have Never Been Higher: You can learn from Marcelo Amaral, CISO at Banco Safra, about his perspective on securing data while fostering business productivity.
Understand Where Your Data is and Where it’s Going: Gain insights about how Ron Powell, EVP & CISO at Pacific Premier Bank, believes that you must know where your data is and where it’s going.
Attacks Start and End with Data: You’ll also learn from Guy Shamilov, CISO at Forcepoint, that “data is the center” of attacks and more about today’s top cybersecurity threats.

A Deeper Dive into the Biggest Security Threats
Let’s dig into one of our favorite questions Ronan raised:
Looking into a crystal ball, what type of threats do you think organizations, not just your organization, or the financial area, what are the biggest threats you envisage us facing when we come back to RSA next?
To which, Marcelo replied:
Data leakage is the first one...The second thing that happens a lot is the inside threat actor, because it’s getting easier using AI to commit fraud, to actually do social engineering and so on.
That is an interesting point, and even though AI has the potential to cause great harm for organizations, we can leverage it to secure data security postures.
For instance, Forcepoint Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) is one of our flagship products, and it helps organizations discover and classify sensitive data with AI-powered precision to proactively prioritize and remediate data risk.
It’s true that AI can make the threat landscape more challenging, but it’s also true that we can leverage AI to identify, categorize and remediate high-risk data while improving visibility and control of it.
The Threat of State-Sponsored Attacks
Looking further at the topic of risk, Ron brought up a great point around a rising risk: state-sponsored threats.
Ron shared his point-of-view that state-sponsored attacks are going to increase. More specifically, he predicted that,
... you’re going to see more cyber-weaponry. You’ll see more things that are leaked out.
At the core of an issue like this is data loss, which reminds us of Guy’s declaration that any attack today starts and ends with data. Whether data loss risk comes from an internal threat or an external threat such as a state-sponsored attack, it’s imperative for organizations to secure their data to reduce risk.
That's why we’re here at Forcepoint to help prevent data loss everywhere. With our Data Security Everywhere approach, we’re dedicated to helping organizations discover, classify and protect their sensitive data.

- GenAI Adoption: How emerging AI technologies are reshaping security strategies and what leaders need to consider before deploying them.
- Balancing Risk with Business Enablement: Why modern CISOs must act as both protectors and enablers, ensuring security doesn’t stifle innovation.
- Preparing for Advanced Threats: Insights on defending against increasingly targeted and state-sponsored attacks in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
This is more than a conversation; it’s a strategic guide for security leaders facing the future head-on.
