John D. Holmes
John D. Holmes is chief legal officer for Forcepoint. John is responsible for the company’s legal and regulatory affairs, ethics and compliance programs.
Prior to joining Forcepoint, John served as Vice President for legal and government affairs at Freescale Semiconductor with annual revenues of approximately $5 billion. John helped steer Freescale’s spin off from Motorola in 2004, the company’s initial public offering in 2004, the leveraged buyout that took the company private in 2006, Freescale’s re-introduction to the public equity market in 2011, and Freescale’s ultimate 2015 merger into NXP.
John has served on many civic and professional organizations over the years, including the board of directors and executive committee of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, the board of directors of the Semiconductor Industry Association, Leadership Austin, the Texas General Counsel Forum, the Association of Corporate Counsel of America and Any Baby Can (Austin)
John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Economics from Tulane University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Tulane University School of Law.
