Now, the company is excited to continue its partnership with Forcepoint while adapting to the NIS2 Directive.

Finding a True Security Partner

UCI is a long-tenured Forcepoint customer that started its partnership in 2016. Before that time, UCI experienced significant exposure to cyber threats caused by factors inside and outside the organization. Microsoft’s service offering came up short, so UCI chose Forcepoint because of its reputation as a leading cybersecurity company that continually grows and has a strong focus on protecting data and users.

In the early years of the relationship, UCI deployed Forcepoint NGFW. Ongoing, NGFW reduces UCI’s travel costs as well as maintenance hours. And the single management console serves as home base for maintaining and updating policies, identifying risks and reviewing real-time health checks of the network.

“Forcepoint Next-Generation Firewall is an excellent product, with continuous improvements, and it’s easily applicable. It covers everything necessary for our company to be strongly secured from undesirable external agents.” - José Antonio Borreguero, Director de Tecnología, Infraestructuras y Servicios

UCI is equipped to handle today’s security threats while optimizing for future challenges.

Unifying and Modernizing its Capabilities with Forcepoint ONE

After years of success with NGFW, UCI decided to take advantage of Forcepoint’s new, centralized approach to security – Forcepoint ONE. UCI needed to protect data everywhere and secure access anywhere, especially with the new NIS2 (Network and Information Security) Directive.

NIS2 is EU’s policy intended to improve cybersecurity across its members. The directive’s main goal is to ensure that critical organizations heighten their security efforts and compliance. Details include stricter security requirements, better reporting methods, and improved enforcement.

José Antonio Borreguero knew that getting UCI ahead of the NIS2 Directive would require unifying and enhancing the security functionalities they had in place with Forcepoint. Securing access to the web, cloud and private apps as well as having continuous control over all data was the top priority.

“Forcepoint ONE provides management from a single console, which will simplify security considerably. It unifies in a single console the traditional products such as CASB, Web Security Proxy, DLP and ZTNA, allowing us to obtain secure and controlled access to information on the web, in the cloud and in private applications.” - José Antonio Borreguero, Director de Tecnología, Infraestructuras y Servicios

José Antonio Borreguero will rely on Forcepoint ONE to empower safer and faster work and unify their previously disparate infrastructure. Moving to a unified cloud service also lowers operating expenses and capitalizes on the visibility that Forcepoint ONE provides.

Securing the Company Today and Preparing for the Future of NIS2

Forcepoint ONE deployment is planned for 1,200 users at UCI, and José Antonio Borreguero looks forward to how it will further help his organization prepare for the future.

“Given that NIS2 has a direct impact on the UCI Group and that the Directive enhances cybersecurity protection, detection, response and resilience to cyberattacks, there is no doubt that having a market-leading solution will help UCI to minimize risks in a highly volatile environment in terms of threats, vulnerabilities and applicable legislation.” - José Antonio Borreguero, Director de Tecnología, Infraestructuras y Servicios

UCI will enjoy the ability of deploying what they need, when they need it, with all the benefits of total integration.
